I have every drone Autel makes and many others. The lack of geofencing beats other brands hands down. Flight is great and video amazing. This particular « lite » version is very similar to the EVO 1. It’s not as beefy as the EVO 2 and way better in wind than the Nano.
If you fly good this is for you. It’s a little dainty so make sure you put it down good and avoid crashing. All fold up drones take significant damage in crashes and falls.
Autel support is ok but dealing with service is a long process which is better avoided. This is the case with most drones. It’s better to insure them instead really. Most home owners policies cover them but there is specific insurance too. There is a new compliance on the way for drones so be sure to check the FAA website before making a decision to buy.

I ordered the Autel Robotics EVO 2 8K Camera Drone Rugged Bundle right after Chistmas. Waiting with great anticipation, it was delivereda week later and I was like a kid in a candy store!Opening the box I was immediately impressed with the quality of the hard case and even more impressed when the case was opened. Everything was neatly organized into different foam cutouts. The black color of the foam really made the « Orange » color of the drone pop out! Of course I’m grinning like a stuck pig! It came with three batteries and extra propellers which is a huge plus as well!I inspected every piece carefully for any damage as I removed them from the case. Everything was perfect! The drone and charger included additional protection strips and wrapping as an added measure of protection! The spare propellers were either in a box or protective sleeves. It is quite obvious Autel wants to ensure nothing is damaged! The last thing I opened was the packet of instructions and parts list. The print is small and was difficult for me to read so I downloaded the instructions and printed them out and proceeded with the preparation for flight. I recommend reading all the instructions first. Each of the batteries indicated about 25 to 50 percent charge so they must be brought to full charge before use. With the single charger provided, it took almost 20 minutes per battery to complete the charging process. There is a USB port on the charger that allows you to charge the controller as well while you charge the batteries. It took about 15 minutes to fully charge the controller so charging the battery and controller at the same time is reduces the overall charge time and will get you in the air faster.Although you can fly without connecting a smart phone to the controller, you do need to download the AutelExplorer app to your smartphone and attach it to the controller to ensure you are flying with the latest firmware updates. These firmware updates are required to keep your warranty valid! The firmware automatically downloads once the drone and controller are paired togetherMy only « snag » in the process was I use an iphone with a lightning port and the kit does not include a lightning to Micro USB interface cable. You can use your iphone charging cable but make sure you secure the excess length.Luckily I had an older Samsung phone that worked great with the supplied interface cables. Once connected to the controller, there were new firmware updates that had to be installed on each of the batteries which took about 10 minutes per battery. These firmware updates are required to keep your warranty valid!Once all the preparations were complete, I was now ready to make my first ever « test » launch of this beautiful looking electronic flying machine! However, Mother Nature had other ideas making my local weather fall below the recommended flight minimums for my EVO II! Patience is a Vertue! Although it was two days later before I could press the launch button, I used the time to study the manual and learn more about about the capabilities of the EVO II.Two days later the conditions were good enough to allow me to hit the « LAUNCH » button! All I can say is WOW! The fun is just beginning!Final notes:(1) Register your device with Autel! This activates your warrenty!(2) Download the following manuals from Autel: (a) App Manual_EN_EVO II_0105.pdf (b) EVO-II-Quick-Guide.pdf (c) EVO-II-User-Manual.pdfReading these manuals will help you master all the features and capabilities that are loaded in the EVO II and will greatly enhance your flying experiencei!

This drone works very well. It is expensive compared to DJIs and similar. As a package, it comes with everything that I needed. Getting the batteries as part of the package is important since buying them separately will cost you $219 each. I have called support once with some operational questions and they were very helpful.
Overall this drone flies very well although a bit like a truck vs a sports car compared to some lighter drones, but meets my needs. I just wish the cost for it and support parts were a bit less.

Great pictures and videos. Do not let it go to five minutes, it will crash before it gets back to you.

I’m used to flying the giant Matrice 210 for work and was looking for a great personal drone.
Several public safety drone operators I work with have begun to buy this model (personal and work uses), getting away from using the Mavics, and the battery life is optimal! I have four batteries and this is more than enough for flying in my off time.
I’ve been extremely happy with my purchase!!!
Exellent bundle, great camera and awesome drone!
